New Song: Alright
Merry Christmas! This year has been quite the struggle for many people, including myself. But God is watching over us all and I believe things will get better. The song this year reflects our continual efforts to move forward toward a better day. I hope you enjoy it, features myself and Cristi on vocals.
I did all the instrumentation myself this year and had a big shift from audio to midi based software. Composing in midi has opened up a whole new world of possibility for me and coming from a writer's standpoint is a much more flexible technology. That said, the recording process still boils down to basic audio knowledge and remains a requirement for midi guys like me wanting to see the writing through to production.
Here are the specs for what I used during this project:
- HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop, 25.Ghz dual core, Vista x64 SP2, 4GB RAM
- REAPER v3.15 (best DAW ever!)
- Roland Fantom X8 for all midi voicing
- Various VSTs (Miroslav Philharmonik, EZDrummer, Kontakt 3, Kore Player, TrackS3, and others)
- Adobe Audition for final mastering
- Audio Technica AT4040 for vocals
- M-audio FastTrack Pro for mic and keyboard interface
- Everything was mixed down on my ATH-M50s, I need some monitors!
